Representational onlyThe Australian Society of American Descendants Certification Program is a way of honouring our descendants of American pioneers who have made Australia the nation it is today. ASAD's Descendants Certification Rights, enables the descendants of pioneers to have their ancestry recognised. A list of Pioneer Names will be added to those who wish to appear in the database.
Instructions for filling out American-Australian Pioneer Certificate Applications
In conjunction with Australian Society of American Descendants you will be presented with a Certificate of descent for early to recent settlers of Australia in these two categories.
These categories are: Awarded by the Australian Society of American Descendants American-Australian Pioneer Certificate An early pioneer who came to Australia prior to 1901 American-Australian Federation Certificate A settler who came to Australia after 1901
1. American-Australian Pioneer Certificate
ELIGIBILITY criteria
• The Applicant must be a descendant of an American-Australian pioneer who came to Australia prior to 1901.
• The Applicant need not be a resident of Australia. A separate application must be completed for each pioneer.
• Eligibility shall be determined by ASAD and its decision will be final.
• Your certificate will be mailed to you as soon as your eligibility has been established. Money from ineligible applications will be returned.
• PRINT or TYPE your application and submit it with your documented evidence and a cheque for $50 payable to the Australian Society of American Descendants.

American-Australian Federation Certificate
ELIGIBILITY criteria
• The Applicant must be a direct descendant of a settler who came to Australia between 1901 and 2005.
• The Applicant need not be a resident of Australia . A separate application must be completed for each pioneer.
• Eligibility shall be determined by a committee and their decision will be final.
• Your certificate will be mailed to you as soon as your eligibility has been established. Money from ineligible applications will be returned.
• PRINT or TYPE your application and submit it with-your documented evidence and a check for $30 payable to the Australian Society of American Descendants.

ACCEPTABLE EVIDENCE Photocopies of documentary evidence must accompany the application.
ONLY ONE DOCUMENT ESTABLISHING THE EARLIEST DATE OF Australian RESIDENCY IS NECESSARY. That evidence may be any of the following: Birth, death or marriage certificate or Bible record Gravestone inscription; Land records or deeds Church or cemetery record Census listing Dated obituary or newspaper notice; Military records Probate, Will, City, Town or Shire directories or histories Family letters or diaries; Passport, Certificate of Identity
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. Your application and the verifying evidence will become the property of the ASAD and cannot be returned. The data you furnish will be a valuable addition to the American-Australian history of Australia and a source of genealogical information for years to come.
